I need some expert information to confirm if my wiring works. I'm getting a PS4 but my TV (Sharp TU-37 GAH) doesn't have HDMI. I'm going to use input 5 as that is the only one available but it has dual link DVI-I (Video) and 3.5mm jack (Audio R/L). Both of these are inputs.
I saw a video on youtube and it says to use a HDMI to DVI-I converter and just plug it in. So I guess the video is ok but I'm not sure about audio. On the PS4 it uses optical audio and according to my research, I need to convert the audio from digital to analog with a converter. Here is my biggest confusion.
The Optical Audio (OA) connects to the digital to analog converter (DAC) and I use a RCA Audio (R and L) to 3.5mm male connector and connect it to the female on the TV.
The OA connects to the DAC (I found one online that has a 3.5mm jack output) and I use a 3.5mm male to male and connect it to the female on the TV.
